Bilstein 6112's 5th clip 1/4" spacer driver's side. Icon tubular UCA's with Delta joint, wheelers superbumps, ECGS bushing. Allpro standard leaf packs, 5160's, U bolt flip kit with wheelers super bump's, extended stainless steel brake lines, carrier bearing drop. Icon rebounds 17" with Nitto terra grappler G2's 285/70/17's.
I looked at them and the coopers. Went with the bfg at ta ko's. I'm not looking back. Owned the earlier versions and swore I wouldn't deal with them again, but THEY have changed. They aren't a rock magnet anymore. No (floating) on pavement. Minor noise on the road and much better than before wheeling. I don't know about longevity, but if its like their predecessor's they'll last. I couldn't wait for the older versions to wear out! I checked out my sons before I bought. The tires sold themselves to me this time. Don't dismiss the at's without a look.

I don't have any complaints other than my MPG's went down slightly compared to the stock Dunlops. I do have a minimum of 300 lbs in the bed at all times which could be why the rear end doesn't slip like some are mentioning. I find the Duratrac a great tire, they are slightly noisy at first but as they wear, they get much better. They are really good in snow, mud, dirt and on gravel roads and I never had any problems on paved roads either dry or wet.

There have been mixed reports on the longevity of the Duratracs.

One thing that bothers me is that no matter what PSI I set the rear tires to, there is about .5" on each side of the tread that does not make contact with the pavement like the fronts.

Here's an old pic of what i'm referring to. This was taken when the tire had less than 1,000 miles.

    From my experience with them...
PROS: great traction. I never had an issue on any roads with these - mud, snow, rain, sand - and always felt that the tires were doing their job.
CONS: never could get them balanced correctly. I made weekly trips to the tire shop for rebalancing. once they started to wear they wore down fast - I had less than 30k on them and they had to go. between the balancing issues and the uneven wear the steering wheel would shake so badly that I literally couldn't drive more than 30 miles without stopping to take a break and give my arms a rest. Driving was always both hands on the wheel, white knuckle grip to keep control of the steering. And they are loud. And they get louder as they wear down. Like can't have a normal conversation with occupants of the vehicle loud.

If you do get them use them as a dedicated winter tire and get something else to run in the warmer months. The traction is amazing and you will not find a better tire for snowy, icy roads.

Agreed on the road walking. Any wide curve felt like I was gonna slide off the road. Traded 'em for Cooper STT and haven't looked back.

People seem to confuse a tires ability to drive through rain and standing water without hydroplaning, with wet traction. Any tire with open tread like mud tires or aggressive A/T's will cut through puddles and standing water awesome because the water doesn't get trapped under them pushing them away from the pavement. For wet traction I'm much more concerned with starting and cornering on wet pavement. It doesn't matter how much it's rained.

I've NEVER had any traction issues with mine, rain or otherwise. They do get noisy with age though, and they can be difficult to balance. I'll likely try something else out when I'm in need of new tires. But i've had an overall good experience.

OP - you're gonna get a thousand different opinions from people that use their tires in completely different situations, so the best thing you can do is decide where and how you're gonna use your tires, do your research, and make your decion. Everyone uses their trucks for different situations - rocky desert vs low country mud and sand - obviously gonna be a mixed bag!

285/75/16's - I love mine and i get comments all the time on my set up. I rotate every oil change and they're wearing perfectly IMO (23k miles). No issues with balancing or traction on wet pavement, a little hum goin down the road but actually less than i was expecting - you're not driving a prius! I'm no hardcore wheeler, but i leave the pavement on a regular basis and ive never had an issue. I'm happy, good luck!

In Cali we mean traction on pavement not water evacuation to stop hydroplaning. Out here people drive the same speed in the rain as the dry. So all of us tacos are flooring it to keep up with the BMW m series and amg Mercedes all around us.

How do those duras do on the freeway interchanges doing 80 in the rain? That's what a Californian is referring to lol.

Why are you doing 80 on an interchange in the rain is the real question. I lived in San Diego and got around just fine on bald highway tires in the rain.

Um, no. Lived in CA my whole life, hardly ever see people doing 80 in the rain. Shit it's hard enough doing it without rain theres so much damn traffic.

Ya I shoulda said how i use my truck... mostly on road, i pull trailers (4000lbs max) and drag a small fish house on the lakes in winter. No rock crawling or anything like that. The snow gets deep tho, and on the lakes i need all the traction i can get.

i got BFG AT KO's now, and they suck on wet or snowy roads. I was gonna just get some blizzaks for winter and keep the BF's but then i heard Duratracs are so good in snow i wouldnt even need a blizzak.

I also want a lighter tire because my 20's with 34" e-load BF's take a ton of MPG away. The Duratracs i want are literally 11 lbs lighter per tire cuz theyre not e-load.

Looks like ill do a lil more research before i settle on duratracs...

I've got about 40,000 give or take, still have tread left. I fishtailed today making a slow left, no weight other then canoer which is only 150 lbs or so and it was the first rain.

I have ran the Duratracs and a multiple of other Goodyear tires on passenger cars, pickups, and SUV's. And the common problem I have had with all of them is that when they get older the rubber gets harder therefore causing them to spin more in the rain and snow. I know this happens to all manufactures but not to the degree of a Goodyear. I loved all my Goodyears when they have lower mileage but as they get up in age I end up changing them out sooner then need be .
