Hi, Chris! Does this make me a post whore? :D A dick? or just someone havin' fun? Some of you guys need to relax a bit. it's been said before: Nobody is forcing you to read or respond to anything, and you can make this site what you want it to be. If you find it against the COC, flag it.

No doubt it always gets handled as seen fit. But the offenders are very often the same. Even though a thread was closed the antics move to a different thread. I know there are things that go on that are behind the scenes, this is not an attack on mods. From the outside (our limited view) we can only see what we are allowed to. Thus we lack the understanding that you guys have. From our point of view or at least mine the thread had turned around with the exception of the young gun (new member), but no doubt he read the first few post on that thread then added his input based on what he read and perceived to be the common conception, thus not all of the blame for what he said should be put on him he was following the example set forth. Public humiliation can grab peoples attention.

Luk, you talking about the recently locked thread on "not turning while in 4x4 on the road"?

    EDIT: Scratch that question.

I agree, and things like in the thread you are describing, are handled accordingly. Many times we close a thread that we think is getting out of hand. Its easier to simply close it, and let people move on, than to sit by, idle, waiting for shit to hit the fan. Plus, It allows us to "catch up" and read the thread, and ascertain what exactly is going on in it. Then, We can choose to re open, or leave it closed. If the OP's issue was handled, and we feel no further comments need to be given, then we will leave it closed to prevent any further ass hatery being posted in the thread.

Yes sir one of the many. My issue is more with rude members but this thread provided a prime example. There were new and old members in that thread doing what is against the C.O.C. I can't blame the newbs for acting that way because they are new here and just falling in line. When a member with 30k post is making comments like what was there what else is he or she supposed to think and write. Hell they want to fit in and go with the flow. Better to be dishing it out than receiving it.

That thread and this thread have been interesting to me because I personally feel they've both turned around. What started as serious, turned into fun, then turned into asshattery, and then came back around again to something good. Do I think it should've been locked? Eh! Doesn't affect my day.

I definitely see your point, and it comes down to the individual basis of each member. Hell, the OP of that thread probably has more "+1's" from it than I'd see in a decade. Aside from the end (yes, TacoKid - no worries), those members w/ many posts and who also raked the OP over the coals came back around. Really cool to see that, actually.

Sad to hear people like RidgeRunner (this thread) don't come around much anymore, but you can't keep all the good, and you can't kick out all the bad. Some things simply slip through the cracks. Positive I'm drunken rambling at this point, but TW seems pretty damn well balanced. May not agree with everything, but I also don't disagree w/ everything either. But this is all just my opinion... ;)

You can satisfy some of the people all of the time, or all of the people some of the time.
But you can't satisfy all of the people all of the time.
