Unfortunately, I'm extremely limited by the current mandatory contract. Mostly terrible Goodyear's, a couple of Firestone offerings, the BFG AT and MT, a couple of Cooper models, and one or two Yokohamas.

I've said it once and ill say it again, GARBAGE tire. Dog shit off road, once the rain hits forget about it, you would be better off with hoosiers for wet traction. Over priced trashhhh. They do look cool though.

I've had good luck with Yokohama, but never tried their MT's. Cooper seems to have a great reputation in the off-road community. Not a fan of Goodyear, but the Duratrac has a strong following. A coworker runs KM3's and seems to like them.

What's your favorite out of the options you mentioned?

Another worthless post. You've probably never even owned them.

Lol so much hate Bro! But why!? Mud & sludge is their weak spot. But mud terrain then right?

I've ran 3 different sets now and if they stand up to AB winters and trails - good nuff for me.

its like when you spend a lot of money on a set of tires because you believed the hype around them, but SIKE they weren't actually as good as people say they are, ill say they suck and ill take that to the grave lmao.

It's just hilarious how mad some folks seem about this. It's like they bought KO2's thinking they would be just awesome in every possible scenario. Then, when they realized that every tire has strengths and weaknesses, they just couldn't deal with it.

Imagine? I ran them for almost 30K miles before I decided to change tire size. Excellent tires for me. They're not really that expensive compared to most of that market.

The couple Wisconsin ice storms we got.. when the Sheriff said sure there's a car stuck on the hill trying to get out but back up and take a running start and you might make it.. me . Ignores him and just slowly creeps up the hill. Didn't want to go fast and slide into the car I couldn't see. Sure enough center of the road. But I nicely cruised past no spinning issues in the ice storm.

I had big Ko2's on a big truck, I liked them on the 2500. BUT, the Ridge Grapplers are better on road by far.

I'm still not sold on the S/T Maxx, but it's definitely scoring better than the Duratracs in early testing. Once the Kelly Edge A/T's that came new on my personal truck wear out or otherwise become unusable, I will be buying the Wildpeak AT3W.

There's no shortage of love for those Wildpeaks around here! I know a bunch of guys running them, and rarely hear anything but high praise!

Before the contract became mandatory, I had them on three vehicles. One of those reached about 70k miles, one reached about 40k miles, and one is a 2WD dually that will probably get sold at auction before the tires ever go bad. So far the Wildpeak AT3W is the only tire I've run that never got me stuck. Even through the deepest of sandy dry washes, they would just keep pulling. I have a set on my personal 4500# travel trailer and I'm convinced they are the reason I didn't wreck while traveling downhill on a muddy stretch of surprise road construction in Montana.

My truck had KO2s on it when i bought it. They were decent both on and off road and got the job done. However, they were terrible in the rain. I'm very light on my gas pedal and i still found myself unintentionally drifting corners. A buddy of mine had them on his truck as well and he hydroplaned into a tree and totaled his practically new 3rd gen. And i'm in SoCal where it hardly rains compared to other places. I currently have Nitto Ridge Grapplers and like them so far. Haven't driven them in the rain but they outperformed the KO2s off road from what I could tell. They are a lot louder though which I don't mind.

Have you had any of the balancing problems from the Wildpeaks? I started looking into them and saw quiet a few threads on it.

Now before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I understand that when people are unhappy, they usually scream the loudest. This thread confirms it. Again, I have been more than happy with my BFG's, but I'm not sponsored by them so I'll buy whatever :D

I’ll take it for granted your buddy knows how to drive on sand. I don’t know if 10mm makes a difference but my 295/75R16 E-rated bricks drives on our soft sand fine at 35psi even when I had stock gears.

Drove through gravelly, bumpy dirt roads a few times as fast and respectfully as I could, no chunks missing.

    1B49C31F-DE75-42BE-9EE1-05BF32A63993.jpg

I later dropped down the psi to 32 to smoothen it up a bit. I will admit it does hate mud a lot.

i agree with “scarily bad in the rain” and longevity.

But when aired down they always performed great off road.. over priced for sure
