Yea it depends on the vehicle and where you get it fixed but it can range anywhere from $4000 to over $14000 if the high pressure pump grenades because typically the entire fuel system has to be replaced due to metal contamination.

To be fair this also applies in reverse, pretty sure a tank of diesel can blow the engine of a gasoline vehicle.

Yea they seem to do ok MPG wise in smaller vehicles but to me the cost to fix and maintain doesn't offset the better fuel mileage, not to mention the higher initial cost and diesel being on average $1.00/gallon more than gas.

Not really, just needs to be pumped out before you can add gasoline and get running again.

Also diesel nozzles won't fit in a gasoline fill neck

You may kill the converters but your not gona kill the engine, gas engines typically won't even run on diesel or will run very poorly but modern diesels will run on a pretty high mixture of gasoline until the fuel system gives up from lack of lubrication.

I don't need a 1ton diesel crew cab with an 8' bed, but it sure looks nice.

HiLux and Tacoma are great pick up trucks, Land Cruisers best SUV ever made. To me.

The manual transmission is a huge factor for me, especially with the 4 cylinder. Reliability too - and the size is just right.

No frills upkeep, easy to work on cause there's no high tech stuff, reliable, great stock ground clearance, 6ft box, I could go on for a while.
Overall a very solid daily driver.

Why? WHY??!!! ....Because you can sink them in the ocean for a whole tide change... Smash them head-on into a tree... Hit them with a wrecking ball... Crash them into things on a race track and drop a camping trailer on them. Set them on fire. Put them on the roof of a condemned high rise, demolish/implode it with dynamite, dig it out of the rubble upside-down. A few other things (I think they filled the tank with old school powdered Kool-Aid and it still ran) :der: ......And:

They STILL Start AND drive away!!! >>WiTH<< a cracked frame! With NO parts swapping.

Source? Two words: "Top Gear" Hilux (ok: three)

It's all on the internet, TV and YouTube: so it has to be true. It's the Law or something. U.S. Code: 867-5309... Look it up: Case Closed
