Actually the truck and SUV segment have the biggest profit margin; the car market is just the most competitive hence the need for more reoccurring updates in the car segment. Most manufacturers make a slim profit on the sales of cars and rely heavily on either fleet sales (the Big 3) or customer volume with tightly controlled manufacturing stock (Toyota, Honda and Nissan) I think Toyota is waiting to see the Colorado and how well the new Jeep small Diesel does before committing to the Tacoma.

True but the compact truck market was much stronger 10 years ago. Why would Toyota invest millions to redesign and produce a vehicle with a limited market? I'm sure many Toyota fanbois will disagree if you look at the automotive market even the Tacoma, Frontier and Ridgeline account for a small percentage of automotive sales.

Yep, It is an older pic of the 4.7. You can tell by the flywheel location for the starter between the banks. What an awesome motor!

KLR 650 motorcycle didn't change for some 18 years, Tacoma wants to beat that record.

Your grandkids will be asking for Gen 3 Tacomas also.
