Wilde said they would repaint it, they have no records of it being painted, but will still repaint it for free. Makes me happy that their going to fix it...incase anyone cared.

Damn, so your new truck has been rolled, and there is no record of it?

I'd be getting some $$$ back

No, i dont think it was rolled, it was probally painted due to scratches, if i chip off a bit of the paint from the roof, it still has factory paint under it, i figured if it was rolled it would probally be a little more f'd up than than. Plus, none of the door bolts look touched, which tells me the doors were off of the vehicle, it drives great, with practically no rattles, so i would assume it was just repainted due to some minor dings and scratches.

So an update for anyone who cares, I went to a local dealership to talk about some warranty issues, and while i was in the service drive, i noticed the paint on approx 3/4 of my truck didn't match, frustrated, i talked to the service manager and he said the truck should have never been certified. So monday afternoon i called toyota customer relations and they submitted a file to Wilde Toyota in milwaukee. I finally got a hold of someone today, they said they will trade me out of my truck but need to find one to trade into. So im nervous, but happy. :)

Sounds like you're on your way to resolution. I hope everything goes smoothly.

I've heard that accidents don't get reported in Illinois (so Carfax picks them up.) I suppose something really severe like a total or salvage title would be reported. Maybe a similar situation in WI.

And FWIW my '95 F250 came from the factory with overspray on the left rear wheel. I never could tell where it was fixed and though the truck is rusting out behind the front wheels, there is still no noticeable problem on the left rear quarter.

Glad to hear that they aren't trying to give you the run around.

Hope you get into your new ride soon.

Body shop owner told me once that damage during the importation does not have to be reported to the buyer. Said he grew up in a dealership family before body work and it happens all the time.

What exactly is the difference with a certified pre-owned vs. not certified? It should have no impact on factory warranty - at least toyota tells me that.
Maybe they are just certifing that it is not new :)

AFAIK certified means that it meets some minimum standards set by Toyota and they will provide additional warranty once certified. For free you get (IIRC) 100K miles and 7 years from date of original sale and for a princely sum they will provide additional coverage. When I bought my Taco last week, the salesman showed me a repair order with $1500 (retail, not what they pay) worth of work to meet the requirements.

I'm sure there is more info on Toyota's web site.

Check this out. I've been lurking for months, so I made an offer to these guys even after I noticed the bumper had been smashed on the right side and the hitch had obviously been removed. See the rounded over nuts on the two hitch bolts? They didn't acknowledge it ANYWHERE in the listings. It was also in Autotrader with the same pictures and I suggested they at least mention the bumper was dented and downgrade the paint or overall exterior condition rating to "clean" instead of "extra clean". Instead they removed all of the pictures from Autotrader so you can't see the bumper anymore. Luckily Ebay stores all the pictures for unsold listings so they can't take them off. Dealers are all out to steal your money in any way they can without getting thrown in jail. Don't know if I'll ever pull the trigger 'cause I can't stand to give them my money! :(
