    correct me if i'm wrong, but hte 6 speed manual is geared much lower than the 5 spd auto. meaning, for me to drive 70mph on the interstate, i'm running about 2000 rpm. but to maintain 70 in the 6 speed i'd have to be running around 2500 rpm (roughly). the higher rpm's mean lower gas mileage. of course this is all based on the V6, i have no idea about the tranny in the i4
