Man, this pushed me to the brink of my skills, but happy that the driver side is over with. Also did the tie rod ends as well. Onto the passenger

Having basically the same truck as yours, I can say that regular oil changes every 3000 miles keeps my Taco running like new.

Currently debating whether to redo the suspension with kings (bump stops, limit straps, etc.), supercharging, or regearing and going from 4.10 to 4.56 or 4.88… choices!

Where to even begin.. a lady pulled out in front of me turning left and I hit her going about 8 mphs.. there was construction somewhat blocking me and she said she couldn’t see me but nevertheless it wasn’t a big wreck at all. No air bags or anything like that. That happened at the very end of September. I took her into my Toyota dealership that also has a certified Toyota collision center and they were so backed up that I had to wait till Nov 4th before they could even begin.. truck was completely drivable so I ended driving it sparingly till than.

so fast forward till Nov 4th. I drop her off and was quoted 4-5 weeks at the most. After the Toyota collision tech got everything taken apart, he confirmed everything was cosmetic. The crash bar took most of the damage. The only thing that was somewhat damaged was where the front bumper bolts on to the frame (circled in 2nd picture attached) and the insurance tried to say that frame damaged and my truck was totaled.. after much back and forth with them they finally relented but said I had to get a new frame.. obviously when I first heard this I was ecstatic but found out that Toyota no longer makes new frames and the insurance again tried to total it because they deemed it unrepairable. The collision Toyota tech guy basically said any 1st gens that come in always get totaled because insurance company makes so much money selling them oversees… he also said that
It was completely repairable and if they totaled it if I brought back to him he would fix it for free.. I didn’t want them totaling because of what it would do the title.. so I continued to fight them and basically got to the last step of getting a lawyer involved and finally got some special collision specialist out there to verify that frame was in no way damaged and the bracket was completely repairable… all that took almost a month and half…

long story short, I finally got her back today!!! So pumped. The Toyota Collison tech did an amazing job.

I had one of those TrueStart batteries in my Land Cruiser from 2012-2019, impressive life for a wet cell battery

Got her in. I flushed with 3 qts our new fluid using the timmy toolman YouTube video with the old steering pump on. Reason being is I wanted new fluid in the lines when I put new pump on. I than pulled the old pump and replaced the entire pump + reservoir with new OEM. 1st time doing belt tension and that was adventure. Didn’t plug in MAF all the way and scared the shit out of me after putting everything back together. Used Mobil syn ATF as my power steering pump fluid. Took about 5 minutes of driving before the air was completely out of the system. No more squealing when wheels fully locked

Absolute pain in the butt. The wiring box/power box wouldn’t fit on top of the winch. The vertical radiator support was in the way. Going to return for a winch and bought one where the wiring box is off on the side.
