Why's everyone freaking out over not having a 2018?

I don't get it, I keep reading on this forum about "I want to buy or order a 2018", there is no difference between the 2017 models and the 2018 other than some very subtle aesthetic, like having a extra color or some other marketing trap to convince the mass population that their 2018 is better than the 2017. The only real major and confirmed change is the fact toyota has discontinued the 5 speed manual transmission for the 2.7L 4 banger, that's it. Stop whining and start buying, go buy the damn truck already! End of rant.

TSS is a big one. And for me the '18's (Off Road and Sport with Premium Package) come with leather seats (black, too, like the 2017 Pro's). That's another nice upgrade that's worth waiting for. Plus we are this late in the year so why buy a 2017 that is already considered one year old?

It's not like the difference between the 16's and 17's, which was almost zero (power rear slider window?). It really has nothing to do with chasing the newest, latest thing and more to do with getting the most for my money and these features are worth it to me.

You don't even own one yet and you worry about problems you don't have, just what you've read about on TW.

Surprised you still want the truck.

You'll fit right in around here.

I finally saw a cement colored truck in the wild, Tundra Pro, so not a Tacoma. Anyhoo, my personal opinion, it is ugly AF!! That and then the orange. Both are fad colors IMO and I really do not understand the fascination of them both? Lest begin the :crapstorm:

Quicksand and cement are not good on a Tundra.

Actually, I don't get the whole cement thing either. How many different grey / silver / gunmetal taco colors do we need?

I was in the same boat while shopping for a new truck. My wife's highlander has the TSS stuff on it and it can be annoying. It gets confused sometimes going around corners, and when direct sunlight hits the front camera all the suddenly the vehicle starts telling you brake before you collide with nothing in front of you. The cruise control is nice, but people will cut in front of you because of it and the car will naturally slow down allowing others to cut in aswell. That was my determining factor when I chose my 2017 over the 2018.
