Wisconsin area events, parking lot parties and social gatherings

So far it looks like overwhelming support for dinner at camp on Saturday. I think I will reserve the shelter once I get done with work here.

 

i was thinking along those lines as well since we tend to take it over the last few times. I would certainly be willing to help pay for for the reservation(s)

I no longer need someone who doesn't have a reservation for Wyalusing to pm me their name, address, phone number and email address because it won't let me overlap reservations.

I can pay for the shelter and reserve it, I just can't be the occupant

Definitely! Like, why can't I use a day use area during the day and a campsite at night.

I used my son's name and email.

Also, it's not available Friday. Supposedly it is closed for the season until the 15th. But, I'm assuming we can probably still use the outside part of it as long as we don't cause any trouble like we usually have been.

Edit: I don't mean that we usually cause trouble, as much as I mean that we usually use the shelter respectfully.

 

I think we've decided that we're going to go back to camp for dinner Saturday. I think it will be fun! And, if there's a demand, we'll go back to Potosi next year.

 

Also, just a thought..

I tend to get into a rut and keep doing the same shit over and over. I love these repeat trips, but, I understand that some people might want to change things up more. I'd like to continue to set up a few trips every year, but I'm open to making some changes. If anyone has ideas for group trips, alternative destinations, etc, let's hear it! I think a trip to the UP would be kickass, and I eventually want to join on some of the out of state trips.

Just throwing it out there.. discuss!

UP is nice but a bit of a drive. Well, it is if you go all the way to Copper Harbor

 

It might be worth a long weekend, or possibly a week long trip. Camping on Lake Superior, pasties, beer, bonfires, etc. I'll bet @LarryDangerfield could put together a good itinerary.

 

Going all the way to the end of the plane crash trail and camping would be cool. We got close when we went but May didn’t like the bouncy trail very much

I remote camp with family 4-6 days each year along the Brule River in Nicolet (UP border). Granted, my family members have upgraded from tents originally to trailers/RVs for comfort over time, but it's incredibly isolated backcountry that I've been exploring since I was 6.

If there's interest I could show you guys some of the dispersed spots, I'd just ask they don't be shared elsewhere so other people don't ruin them.

When I say dispersed, I mean it literally. No cell service, no water, no toilets, etc.

 

Ditto. Been meaning to go back to Lake Superior. The water was so pristine and crystal clear.

 

Okay, it's starting to sound like this is something we need to do. Edit:I have only been to the UP one time in my life, and it was in like 1992.

 

Same here. I would love to spend some more time exploring there.
