Eh, I don't off-road like you do. It is still my dd and I have no other way to work if it were to go. Now, if I had won the lottery... different story.

Hmm, could have promise. But will require a lot of work. But I guess that's the whole point of a project vehicle.

All it needs is the transmision and transfer case. They bolt in which is nice. He has all the driveshafts and the front axle already put together and it runs :D

Don't forget you're gonna need drive shafts front and rear. The 2 wheel drive shaft for the rear will become too long. Of course you could always have a shop cut the current one down, but I recommend going the other way.

Also, if you do pick this up, I would suggest opting for the aw4 automatic trans mated to an NP231 transfer case. The aw4 is much stronger than the ax5 manual trans. The 231 transfer case is also stronger than the np242. The 242 has clutches in it for full time use - making it the weaker choice. Whatever xfer case you chose a slip yoke eliminator is advised.

Also, with the aw4 you have the option of over-riding the shift solenoids to pick and hold a gear just like a manual.

Never mind about the drive shafts, didn't see that they were there until I read your post over again.

Also the np231 xfer case has a lot more after market support, as well as in-house upgrades from Diamler/New Process such as heavier duty chain and planetary sets as they also installed the 231 in 1/2 ton Dodge trucks.

i leave town for a couple days and you guys turn this thread into a bi-curious puke fest, then pull a 180 to a project rig that's manly. nicely done.
