I think i like it. Would like to hear it from the outside. trying to get my girlfriend to drive it up and down the street for me while i stand on sidewalk but she isn't in the mood. gaaaaaay.

it does have a nice growl to it though when you mash on it.

Thats pretty funny lol. But thats good to hear. Is it as deep a sound as you had hoped it would be? And did you dump it or add a tip and route it like the factory location?

yeah its deep like I wanted. I like it. Just used to the stock is all. But I had them just put the new muffler in and keep the old piping so its pretty much the same set up.

One more question for ya Andrew haha. Is it fairly quiet at crusing speeds or is the noise of the muffler always there? And is there any drone? Thanks

Man. This doesn't sound ricey. My truck sounds like this I THINK. I really need to get my girlfriend to drive it around for me. she was going to last night but she didn't want to back my truck out of the garage cause of how close I park to the walls so she can park her 4runner in the garage as well.

I will make her do it when she gets home in a little bit. I'm interested to hear how it sounds from the outside.

Maybe its just too hard to tell how it actually sounds from inside the cab with windows up/down.

    I'll keep you guys posted.

    Andrew,

I listened to your sound clip on my PC with decent speakers and my truck sounds almost the same as yours. Once you ease on the gas it becomes quiet then growls when you step on it. I can not discern any riceyness in it. Drone? Try cruising on an Interstate with steady speed at 65, then 70 then 75 MPH. (watch your speed limit whereever applicable pls.) My favorite sound band at crusing speed is between 65 to 75. That is where the nice rumble is. (plus it is the sweet spot to max your mileage, 1.8 to 2K RPM)

    Keep us posted brother.

ps i trimmed down the exhaust tip eliminating the flared part, I don't know it that has any impact ( I doubt)

Okay guys! Had the domestic partner drive the truck for me down the street in front of my neighborhood. At first she didn't mash on it when she passed me so I had to call her and tell her to floor it so that I could actually hear it.

It sounded pretty BADASS when she finally got it right! I like the sound that I heard when she passed me. Carried a nice deep tone and a low growl/rumble whatever you want to call it. I also took it on the interstate today and like you said it is pretty much dead silent when you let off the gas but it does sound pretty sweet when your speeding up at high speeds.

I need to take it back to the muffler shop though. I can hear some metal rattling when the truck is idling. not sure if it needs another hanger or something installed to get rid of the noise.

All in all, I am happy with it. It is a bit loud in the cab though. I may find a way to deaden the sound from underneath the cab. We'll see.

    Thanks Lazaro.

p.s. Jessica (the ol lady) said it didn't sound ricey. She said she thought it sounded cool in the cab. Shes such a nerd. She had big smile on her face when she was driving the truck so that I could hear it. She told me she was laughing. Dork.

 I am very glad to hear/read your update. Outstanding partner you got there brother!
Have that hanger (or whatever is causing the metalic thing) secured.

On the cabin sound level maybe a resonated tip? Maybe some of the guys here could weigh in on this matter.

I got this tip (WF302) from Bear River a couple of weeks ago. Yup, Bear sold it with 25% discount for Tacoma world members. I will have it installed if I could get a day off. (If.... )

Does that have a resonator in it? I am assuming that just dampens the sound? Hey that is a 13" long tip. Our stock tips are 11" after the bend in the pipe. you gonna have the tip another 2" out further than stock tailpipe?

For the exhaust tip, what size/shape/length determines the change in the sound?
