Has anyone ever run into a intermitant sound like this?

It has been occurring on and off.

I may have pinned it down to the A/C compressor...but would like some input if possible.

I have attached a link to a video.

    Any help would be great.

You're thinking a/c compresser, but I didn't see the a/c light on in the vid. Does the noise change when you turn on the a/c?
More info like miles, motor, trans, maint. you've done since buying would be helpful.

Just a shot in the dark but, my first thought would be idler pulleys.

On my 1st gen, the trucks computer turns the compressor on and off (even with A/C off) when the heating control setting is in defrost. I assume the 2007 is the same.

Well to make a long story short. The noise subsided by itself "mysteriously".

Come to find out the a/c is no longer working.

The condensor blew a hole and system was drained.

Wondering if it could have been the compressor that cause a possible build up of fragments coming from that sound in the video?

What confuses me is that I checked the low port and the pressure is high still.

I am aware that if you use the defrost setting even in winter, the compressor will still kick on.

All pulleys seen to be working fine. No play, no grinding bearing noises.

As for the noise was trying to diagnose it, and was unable to.

I did bring it in to the dealership to see if they could diagnose it. They said it was a heat shield, rattling.

Ironic that the noise was still there after they "fixed" the heat shield.
