Pretty much every time I fill up with gas my truck throws a high temperature transmission fluid warning and then immediately shuts off. It will not crank back up for about 20 to 30 min after this happens. Anyone else experienced this issue and any recommendations on what is going on here?
Just so you know I just had to dealership swap out the fuel pump for the recall. That did not help.

That’s odd, the only thing that usually happens is the evap purge valve leaks and causes a no start for 30 seconds. The high temp warning is odd.

It seems I get odd things going hand in hand. For instance if my check engine light comes on my track off light goes on and off the entire time. Anyhow thanks for that I'm gonna check on the purge valve.

Do you fill your tank after the pump clicks off?

What happens if you don’t fill it up all the way? Like maybe just a little under full?

I fill mine up running every time, I doubt that’s causing the issue.

What! Do you have a diesel Tacoma? Unlike diesel fuel, gasoline explodes when ignited.

Get some sheepskin mittens, -30 isn't a good reason to fill your truck running. Hell, -50`C isn't a good reason.

Kid in back seat. (makes it worse haha) I rarely do it, but if its blinding cold I consider it.

It's a minimal risk, there's little to no vapor at that temp, so its harder to ignite in a freak incident.

Don't get me wrong, its 100% wrong, but mentalities change at -30 as you know.

Yes they certainly do. My mentality changed to "why the f*** am I putting myself through this" and I moved to Florida

When you gas up with the engine running you risk the ECM seeing the gas cap off/engine running as a "large evaporative" leak and throwing a CEL.

Don't pump gas with your engine running...
It's dangerous, illegal, and causes your truck's computer to freak out apparently...
