I am pretty sure Ward never ordered June around like a pet.

I don't practice that method with my stay at home wife either.

Can't remember my dad or grandfather's doing it either...fwiw.

    Purely anecdotal I know.

So much this. My wife and I are equal partners in the relationship and it's great.

I was perfectly happy with my '96 that I've had for 24 years and has 414,000 miles but my wife kept nagging me about my driving it on trips, so I finally bought a new one to get her off my back.
I still drive the '96 quite a bit.

My wife doesn't work either. It works out because she cooks, cleans and takes care of the kids while I work 50-60 hours a week. We're not rich, but we are doing ok. I'm only 26 so not every young couple has 2 incomes. Better for the kids if their mom is at home in my opinion.

I was on my way out when I read your post, and wanted to reply:

I so clearly remember when my wife was almost due with our first and we were speaking with our neighborhood friends who were more or less in the same stage of life- the surprise when we told them we decided to live on my carpenters income while my wife would stay home and raise the child.

We had some really lean times during a few recessions, our family vacations were almost exclusively camping in tents, and I worked every overtime hour and took on hundreds of side jobs while I renovated our "handyman special" home.

My son's both tell me "thank you for our very unusual upbringing" from time to time.

@CouchlessPotato stay strong, stay the course if at all possible, and some day you will probably look back and appreciate your accomplishment - imo.

Thanks man, I'm doing the best I can on my mechanic salary. I'm doing just fine, thinking about buying a house in the next year or so. All my vacations are also tent camping, but thats my favorite thing to do anyway, I don't need to fly to Hawaii to have a good time with my family.

When I wanted sliders, I said, “baby, I would like some sliders” 20 minutes later...

I was ready to install the sliders. Only got 1. Hopefully box 2, right side, gets here in a couple of days. These are 49.5 pounds a side by the way. I thought 60 pounds was light for a pair of rock sliders.

With the additional weight you can expect a 2 MPG increase....:burnrubber:

The nerf bars currently on it weight about 25 pounds each so I figure it won't be a drastic difference.
