Just say they’re basically running boards and they also prevent door dings

Dude, rock sliders are dope. I don't do any rock crawling, but driving around off road in the woods they knock limbs and shit away real nice. Plus, your Tacoma will be fancier than the others.

Tell her she doesn't need that many shoes if that is her thing.

Honestly my wife doesn't get or understand half the things I am into nor do I understand her obsession with shoes so we just live and let live. We might joke with each other on our interests but life is way to short to be demanding in some way unless it's going to hurt us financially. I have predator steps on my truck but I am liking the N-fab RKR steps because the steps can be removed, I am just not sure how robust they are. I need to have some type of step system because my wife and my Mom are short so I might just keep the predators until I trash them.

You could also present your wife with information like the cost of fixing truck damage without sliders VS having some armor that helps with an unexpected off road situation arises and if you live in a city like mine where people fling open their car doors without a care in the world.

Good luck on convincing her about the sliders.

I wheel fairly regularly and never anything super crazy as my truck is basically stock but accidents happen. I was out two weekends ago trying to squeeze through a tight section with a large rock on the passenger side. I stopped to turn my wheels a bit and that was enough to ever so gently slide me into the rock and the weight of the truck caused a bit of damage. Sliders would have been nice in that situation or even a lift would have gotten me through alright but things happen.

I am going to research that first...
I was looking, and learning, never thought of lifting up a vehicle by the wheel with a high lift.

If your sliders stuck out a little more and if you had a little more lift you could have prevented that. My truck is 3 years old, no door dings. Sliders have saved my ass big time wheeling too.

Ya there is an attachment for the high lift to lift from the wheel, it’s pretty handy. We just used that for the time being to take the weight off the truck to assess the situation. We eventually used a winch to pull the truck away from the boulder.

So far just a bed mat and a lighter wallet
The sliders look great and so does your truck op! Like many others have said I told my wife I purchased steps because my daughter needed them. When they arrived weighing close to 150lbs and sat in the garage for a while she was less then happy. But the initial damage was already done and she was begging me to install them so they weren’t taking up space in the garage

Typically wives do not have the full understanding of the reasoning why any change needs to be made. They often rush to a judgement based on initial observation and/or failure to look at all aspects. The amount of money involved often adds further emotional response to the situation.

Bottom line they don't have a full grasp of the benefits involved with any decision. For example, my wife says I don't need a girlfriend.

giving your truck sliders is like giving your girlfriend a ring

the truck doesn't need sliders like your gf didn't need a ring

but that didn't stop you from marrying her and making her your wife...

    sooooo yea that's my .02

treat your vehicle properly and it will serve you well
    happy wife = happy life
