Make sure new thermostat is installed with valve in the upright position, that lets air circulate out of the closed system. I assume it's electric fan, so start car let it heat up then make sure fans are turning on when they need to. I had a Subaru Justy(3 banger) that the relay went out on, I wired the fans to a switch and I actually turned them on manually once the car heated up. What a pain in the ass that was.
