When is WiFi available once activated? Full time or only with engine running? Costs experienced and effectiveness of truck's WiFi as a 24/7 source for a dash cam. I'm wanting full time signal to transmit theft or tampering while parked in addition while driving. Some dash cams continuously record while parked, but upon a detected impact or motion, save recorded info prior to impact. I want this emailed in the event the unit is stolen. Run power off truck's battery or add second battery? Suggested dash cams? 4K worth the upgrade? Signal quality and consistent? Thoughts? Feedback? Suggestions? Thanks!

Very interest in this also, I just had a window smashed as an act of pure vandalism (long story) and the only thing taken from the truck was a cheap basically worthless gps - I'm assuming the vandal thought it was a dash cam so even 2 bit vandals are hip to dash cam recordings. It's basically impossible to catch the criminal (even if everyone knows who did it) without some video evidence. I've put a lot of thought into it and the best solution I can come up with is a second battery powering a hotpot and dash cam. The sticky issue is the pricing on mobile hot-spots and coverage, for now (good chance of it happening again) it's cheaper for me just to lower my delectable while I decide how much cash I want to throw into it vs getting ahead on my payments.

For what it's worth I'm starting a duel battery install thread here.

I know the 20 OR has onboard WiFi. If it's full time, the secondary battery might be the perfect setup if even needed. I've found one that is 2K resolution that utilizes a sim card.
