Does anyone use a WiFi/app enabled indoor sprinkler controller? If so, which brand and do you like it better than a manual one? Do the apps work well or are they glitchy?

Went to Home Depot looking for a cheap replacement for my old Rainbird sprinkler controller, and there are several affordable options for these. Some have manual buttons, others don't.

I replaced my rainbird controller with a Rachio maybe 3 years ago. It's beyond great. I can access it across the globe, it syncs up to local weather and turns off if rain is coming etc.

    Zero issues.

I considered the Rachio, but there was considerable questions between them and Google as to whether it would work with Google WiFi. So I ended up going with Orbit Bhyve. I have also had absolutely no issues. It's wonderful. Our lawn pump is on a well, so not too concerned with water restrictions. But having a connected controller is definitely the way to go.

Orbit B-Hyve is what I am leaning toward, because I can get an 8-zone for $80 at Home Depot. Leaning toward the newer indoor style without manual buttons. I also have Google WiFi as well.

I seriously wanted the Rachio, but I've been really happy with the Bhyve. It also doesn't require an additional outdoor case if your controller is outdoors. Mine is under our deck, but it's straight controlled with my phone now. I think I also got it for about $85, which was a lot less than the Rachio. No problems at all man! Go for it and you'll never be able to go back.
