I have the opportunity to get a sweet deal and I mean sweet deal on one of these. Can my Tonneau cover still be used with this on my truck. Couldn't get a positive answer from them, so anybody got any insight on this.

Get a measurement from seller or buy and see.

Looks like that hinge may not have enough clearance.

Does it replace the tailgate? I highly doubt your tonneau will seal on the top bar if so, let alone the rest of the dead space being wide open into your bed.

I don't see how it would work if it wasn't a tailgate replacement, looks like it occupies the same space the tailgate would. If so, tonneau would be useless.

Personally, I wouldn't think so. I have a tire gate on my truck, and I think that the release pin would get in the way and not allow the tonneau cover to function properly. Just ditch the tonneau cover.

I only use the the cover in the winter over here as to not carry around a full bed of snow all winter.

Your tonneau is designed to seal on the tailgate.

Not a piece of square tubing.

And again, what good is a tonneau when your tire gate doesn't cover the bed? 30% of that tire gate is open space, so it's not going to keep your bed dry or clean, or its contents safe.

@Unchained 5150 I don't think it would fit with your tonneau. Just looking at the profile of the top tube on the carrier more closely it sits a lot higher than the stock tailgate so it wouldn't seal. Thats aside from the quick release pins. Bummer. That thing would look sick on your truck...

Since you're just using it to keep snow out of the bed, another approach may be to sell your existing toneau (I'm assuming it's a hard-style cover) and get a soft cover. It might provide some flexibility in back in case of interference.

Looks like the red pin is offset back a little making it so the Tonneau could still be locked flat. I am not concerned with the seal as I only use it to cover up my 2 Rotopax containers, HiLift jack and extra full size TRD Beadlock spaire
