So i'm wondering has anybody done a salvage rebuild. Been trying to think outside the box on how to get back into a tacoma since i've been without mine for a while and thought about buying a not too trashed salvage tacoma. Been looking on Copart and can find some that say "run and drive". Well my thoughts are finding running a taco with rear end damage only, and find a destroyed front end non running tacoma with same paint and same generation.
Now the question is, has anybody attempted what im thinking about?

Only thing about a rear ended car make sure there's no frame damage

The frames on all generations of Tacomas fold like wet cardboard which is why it's likely totaled. I'm also willing to bet the box smacked the back of the cab before springing back.

Id never do it. In Texas you can get liability only on a salvage title. So if you wreck it after you fix all up your just out your money and have to fix out of pocket.

I'm guessing if you can fix a salvage vehicle, this probably isnt much of a concern

Why waste your time with salvage it’s junk for a reason...the repair exceeds the value of the vehicle.
