Thank you sir! I need to paint my snugtop cap and would like a matte black textured look. Seems like the rustoleum is a good option

I just picked up a Wildernest which I'm super excited about! When I got it on my truck I realized the right side has bowed out a bit so there is a gap between the rear glass and the side of the topper. Is this something you've run into at all? Any ideas on how to fix that?

I've heard of people popping the screen out and threading a ratchet strap through both windows to pull it back in. Over time it will likely slide back out again from bumps and vibrations. I've thought about just bolting mine to the bed rails. A big clamp may work as well

Yeah I was wondering about that... but now I'm wondering if it's really worth the hassle/ potential of cracking the fiberglass since it's really not off by THAT much. Thanks for the response tho, I'm all sorts of conflicted about this haha

I hadn't really thought of the fiberglass cracking. Mine has holes in it from the previous owner. They don't line up with my bed rails so I'm not sure what they were used for

What are the length and width dimensions of your Wildernest? Been looking at a lot on CL all across the country. Found quite a few that have been mounted on an assortment of trucks. Don't want to drive 10+ hours somewhere to realize it's not going to fit...

From my understanding they were made to be somewhat universal. Mine fits pretty well on my 1st gen. As long as you get one for a 6ft bed you should be fine. Looks like you have a 2nd gen which is a little wider so it may not fit perfectly. They quit making them in 99 so basically when mid sized trucks were still compact trucks.

See that's where I was confused. I saw one in the denver area that a guy has on an 02 Ford f250, and it fits like a glove, but then I see they also fit Tacos well. So wasn't sure if there were different sizes or not. OP has one on a 2nd gen and it seems to "fit", just requires some creative problem solving. Thanks for the info! Wish me luck on the never ending search!

Full size and compact versions. You would be looking for one with the extended rear that slants up past the end of the truck. Hope that makes sense.

Good luck! These things are so sweet! Being able to stand and having access to everything in the bed is awesome!

Hey man! Picked up a nest a couple months ago and have been wanting to paint it and ran across this thread. How is you bedliner holding up after a couple years? Is it fading at all and looking dull, or does it still look as good? And you used 2 coats of the rustoleum primer/paint not just a rustoleum primer correct? Thanks!
