I can appreciate some engine noise. Quieter vehicles lose some character IMO. Like how diesels sound lame now compared to older classic diesels. Cummins 6.7 for example sounds lame compared to the 5.9 or a nice DT466 or T444 (7.3 Powerstroke)

I think you missed the point, bro.

A "wildly unpopular opinion" could be something that most people on TW think is great of which one is not a fan.

Conversely, such a "wildly unpopular opinion" could be something that is griped about often on TW, but that one actually likes.

(For example, I love my low maintenence, very efficient, perfectly effective rear drum brakes)

I might agree with some of your long ass points if OP had made a post that said "things I hate about my Taco"

    But he didn't.

Hmmm. Speaking of long ass posts...At least I'm on topic...

I like the engine and both the transmissions it gets mounted to.

A short bed doesn't count as a truck. A real truck has at least a 6' bed.

    There.

    Did I?

    Let's see.

Comment #1. A whole ton of people seem to dislike the third gen. The whole "turd gen" thing, the deluge of threads about people asking about trading to a 3rd gen and the large pushback about how junky of a truck it is. Anytime someone posts a pro-3G thread it turns into a crapshow. I really like my truck and think it's quite good.

Comment #2. I don't like replica Pro grilles. Everyone here loves to rag on the cost of the OEM piece over the aftermarket unit. I think the fact the OEM part is consistent in quality is worth the extra cost.

Comment #3. There is thread after thread about tire size, thus a popular topic. I wish people would search before making the same thread over and over. Some people don't care about reposts. Hence, unpopular. Is it about a specific Tacoma part, maybe not, so you've got me here.

Comment #4. I don't like aftermarket exhaust. Judging by all the systems and posts I've seen with videos, etc, people love putting exhausts on these trucks.

Comment #5. Trolling the 3G forum is still somewhat popular, especially in threads asking if people should trade 2G for 3G. This ties into Comment #1. A lot of people don't like these trucks, I do.

So outside of Comment #3, which is borderline not relevant, all of my posts are unpopular opinions. I apologize my 5 points were "long ass points", but I think it added something to the conversation. I'm sorry you disagree.

I can do one better. Real trucks have regular cabs and bench seats.

unpopular opinion, I think the Tacoma has plenty of power.... it gets me around.... doesnt struggle to go 80 (even with my 285s)

unpopular opinion, zero complaints about the mpgs... w/ my 6MT 3" lift and 285s I still get 17.5mpg consistently mixed highway and city

unpopular opinion, cement can look baby blue when it's overcast outside (I still love it though) :D

I can do better still. SUVs are not trucks.

Now convince my boss that refers to his Honda Odyssey as a truck and we'll be square, lol.

1st and 2nd gen owners should be considered experts on the 3rd gen.

I have always considered SUV's built on a frame as a Truck.
