All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
You will not be disappointed. Besides the KO2s, are IMO the same tire we have all been running forever. Just a slight different outside lug pattern, which is made that way to quiet the ride.
The Falkens are new tech, and what I mean is that a lot of R&D went into making this tire. To be honest falkem has never made a consumer/commuter tire that could hold up to the other competition until now. They have always been focused on race tires and such.
But I do believe that this is the perfect all terrain, that crosses over. I almost bought a mud tire for my taco this go around. Because I have always had them. But I wanted to try something new. I am pleased, but the E rated rides like a brick. So go SL

After rolling around in the BFG Km3 and General Grabber X3 reviews for a few weeks, I decided to stick with an AT, and was directed to Falken. Well, ordered the Falken SL today, and about an hour after ordering them, I called, canceled, and ordered the E Rated. Was worried about when I go hunting/fishing/Kayaking in Northern Maine, all of the shale/slate, and no cell signal for hours, I figured the E Rated would be the way to go for security purposes. Reading this post makes me second guess my second guess. :( did I done gon screw up?

The E rated tires will run tougher than the SL for sure. I would say run a psi in the mid to high 30s and you will be good.
But your correct the E rated is tough as nails.
Mainly, the E rated tires are meant for heavier trucks, and have a higher PSI max. So you will want to experiment with tire pressures. But I went from stock tires to E rated. And being that my truck has a very plush suspension, I could feel the difference immediately.
I will say that these grip extremely well. I have all the tires you mentioned on different trucks. These are seriously grippy in the rain and loose gravel. Have not had them in the mud yet. But they did well in 8” of snow up at my place in NC.

After doing months of research I decided on a set of these for my 1st gen Tacoma last fall and they have been amazing. I have a steep loose gravel road to get to my steep loose gravel driveway and we just had the worst winter in 30 years here...deep snow, packed snow, ice, wet snow, dry snow, more deep snow...nothing could stop these tires. They do great on the paved roads too, wet, dry, whatever, these tires have been nothing less than awesome.

I had the exact same experience as OP in the Tahoe blizzard over superbowl weekend when they got 10ft in 3 days. These tires exceeded my expectations so incredibly, anything i have to say about them couldnt do them enough justice. Even if they were the same price as KO2s id still get the wildpeaks again.
