Just put the Michelin Defenders on last month.
I thought they were the loudest tire I'd ever heard, I went back to return them.....

Turned out to be a bad wheel bearing !

Just off a 2500 mile road trip pulling my trailer and am very happy with my purchase.

    They feel "Sure Footed"

I had them road force balanced and the vibration went away. Might be worth a try

99.9% of the time my truck stays on the pavement and I have no complaints. Even the boss (wife) doesn't complain.

It wasn’t the fact the tires were out of balance. I could feel the lugs “hit” the pavement, especially noticeable at very slow speeds.

If you are looking at the Wildpeaks try checking out the Falken Rubitrek. It's pretty much the same tire except the center lug is designed more for on road driving. I just put a set on mine and they are louder than the OEM Goodyears that were removed but not bad. So far they seem to handle the rain well and they are snow rated. I got mine from Sam's club and they were $169 each. That is in the stock size, 265/70/16.

Ah, a ford before ford became a clown show. Nice truck! I have a S10 from before GM became a clown show too.

Wildpeaks came stock on my wife's Mazda CX-50 Meridian Edition. They ride great, handle well in wet and dry conditions, and are pretty damn quiet for AT tires. When my truck needs tires, I'll be buying wildpeaks.

Look at all the specs and choose your tire wisely. tread style, size, depth affect noise and ride quality. Make sure you look at the weight of your current tire, and compare it to the new tire... the bigger, and heavier you go, the worse your mileage will be. conversely, the heavier they are... they may hold up to offroad abuse better. good luck, personally I like the Toyo AT3 tires.

If you have snow, they are awesome. If not, they are great off road as well. A nice compromise between a dedicated snow and off road tire.

Well, considering the Sport is a 4x4 truck, there isn't a reason I could of think of for not having them.

I’m riding on 265/70/17 wild peaks now on my 22 TRD Sport ACLB MT, and do not enjoy the ride. My truck is my daily driver. Very little off road use. Some gravel roads. Highway driving is very sloppy with tire chain and studded tire grooves in the service of the road. Going to get away from off road AT’s, and pick up an on road AT. ANY SUGGESTIONS.

I have the SUV version on my Tacoma, slightly less tread depth and weight. I'll get them again.

you’re gonna like your all-terrain tires when it’s raining out, almost * like my Subaru awd in the rain.

Tires add quite a bit to the look of the truck. If you like the way they look, I wouldn’t worry too much about how often you’re off road. Just go for it.

The point of a Tacoma is to off road.
And requires activation of 4x4 once a month for x miles on loose surface.

Wildpeak is a regular tire. So is Michelin Defender.
Wildpeak is not a very aggressive A/T.

Look at cooper road and trail AT. More designed for the road.

Look into bfg trail terrains designed for the street and light trails . They have slightly aggressive look without the noise from an all terrain tire .

I've had wildpeaks for a few years now, i dig em. They are a little heavier as others have mentioned but i only ever notice it when i'm jumping triples, i just gas it a little more to make sure i clear that last jump.
