I wouldn’t recommend tinting your windshield.

My daily driver has 55% on the windshield & I'll never go back. Cuts down on so much glare I'd argue it's safer, at least until LEO start enforcing headlight laws in SoCal. :laser:

15% is perfect and has little impact on driving at night. I also highly recommend ceramic tint on the front windshield. 85% is barely noticeable, but allows me to drive without a need for sunglasses.

I got a gift certificate for Christmas to get my windows tinted. Think I’m going with 35 since it’s the lowest legal in tn and getting the windshield done as clear as possible with the ceramic. Thinking about adding a little extra to my gift card and getting the quarter windows a little darker too

Im in oc thats why i was thinking 35% because depending where you are you can find some cops that have nothing better to do than pull you over for tint. Never got any problems when i had 5% but i have friends that have. Maybe cuz i always had my windows down haha. But anyway ya i think front two have to be 100% clear. All other windows can be tinted pretty sure

I don’t recall what % tint I have but I have it matched to the factory rear tint on my 4Runner and my last two Tacoma's. There good on the highway because they definitely cut down on the glare . Backing in sucks and a majority of the time I roll down the windows to back up...especially with my trailer.

Yep i remember that struggle as i back into parking spaces majority of the time. Makes me lean toward getting 35%

That is a very subjective question. I have tint on all my windows to include the windshield and I don’t have trouble seeing at night. I do however have some issues seeing at night in the rain. I know a lot of older people would not be able to see in my truck at night.

I would only go as dark as the law in your state allows.

I think mine is 35%. If we are talking about it in the same context 20% is very dark and likely illegal.

Ya anything on the front two is illegal in CA. Ya i think it really does depend on the person. I had 5% and it was too much im sure 20% could work but i know 35 would be safe to go with forsure

yup, I had my front driver/passenger windows tinted on my last car and made it a few years before a bike cop pulled me over for it one time in Pasadena. They weren't even that dark, I deliberately got them lightly tinted to not draw attention to it. Had to get it removed and take proof (the receipt) from the shop to a traffic court judge, was a pain in the ass.

CA won't allow it on front windows at all unless the vehicle came that way from the factory, or if you have a doctor's note for it (I think that's a new exception).

I've got 20% all the way around, including the canopy. It is pretty dark at night, I usually have to roll the windows down when backing up. That could be because of the canopy though (looking through three layers of 20% to see out the back). I love it besides that. Keeps the interior way cooler in the summer and keeps people from looking at my stereo and other possible things in the truck.

Damn ya that looks good on your truck. I miss the darkness and coolness on hot days. Ive also got a sub and amp hooked up in my truck, part of the reason 20% sounds nice

20 should not be a problem at night except it extra dark areas taking a turn.

I did mine myself, 5% on all side windows. 5% strip across top of windshield. I don't know what my state laws are, don't care. If a cop situation arises, just roll the windows down. Having dark windows is a self defense necessity in a road rage stand your ground state like FL. I have a topper, so I have to use the camera to back up anyway.
