You got that right. When this truck hits the “power band”.....look out. I like my 3.5L a lot, but will admit it takes more getting use to than one would expect.

The RC350 uses the 3.5 while the the RCF uses a 5.0 V8.

They probably could easily put that V8 in the Tacoma as well, but CAFE regulations probably wouldn't allow for it.

Here’s another “bot written” click-bait for you about the new 2018 Tacoma diesel. Good news is with the diesel they are going back to the second Gen body style.:

“The all new 2018 Toyota Tacoma Diesel was propelled in 2015. From that point forward it rapidly turned into a most loved for those taking a gander at a rough yet agreeable medium measured truck”

Holy Sh****T!!! It comes with “mist lights’

The flip side of this article is that the 2018 Tundra sport off-road will come with a 6 speed manual

Yuup that’s right......A V10 Diesel that gets 35mpg, power seats, stock 35” tires, and mist lights. Wish I had waited for the 2018 model year.

You could always find a donor V8 from a junkyard and put a few grand into rebuilding it....my suggestion would be not a Chevy Big Block.

The V8 story is true. It's coming with a new 13 speed. The ratios will be closer so it doesn't feel like the gear hunting is as bad as the 6 speed.

V8 will steal sales from Tundra, never happen. Diesel has less power than current motor. Wouldn't happen anyways

It would steal sales, yes, but is that a bad thing? If people don't need big trucks why do we make so many?

Ooooohhhh. I'm going to swap in a big block and convert it to diesel too. With a big turbo too. I'll pre power the turbo with the stock 3.5L. Think sequential engines.
