Yea I'm very fond of mechanical work. I replaced every piece of steering and suspension 2 years ago in my rig as I do quite a but of overlanding in it plus it's my daily. I'm just trying to figure out my next step in the build. 33's aren't needed but it would be nice to fit them on the truck but it looks like I'll have more work to do before I get there

They may not rub driving in the mall parking lot, but the minute you hit a bump with the wheel turned, they will. Do it right. You keep adding pressure to those bilsteins with those springs you have, and you may as well drive a chuck wagon cause that what it will feel like.

Hence the reason for this post. I've driven my truck with current setup for almost 3 years and have had rubbing issues. I love the mall comment. Nagging aside, I have OME heavy duty coil springs around my 5100's. And I also have an add a leaf set with Timbren active bump stops in the rear. With that said I have no sag in the rear even with the gear I have on my truck. If I add more weight then the bump stops handle that weight very well. I plan on doing it right one day.

This looks like a 1.5” spacer which would yield 2.5-3” of lift in the front not 1.5” lift.

The same shit everyone else has.
    upload_2023-1-24_13-30-31.jpg

285/75. 16x8 et-10. ~2.5” of lift. SPC UCAs. Wheels pushed as far forward as possible via LCA alignment cams.

You can run this setup without a cab mount chop, but it will still rub on plastic.

No cab mount chop. Zero contact at full cycle. Trimmed the shit out of the bumper/flare extensions and a wheel liners.

yea it'll rub. I used to run a 265/75/16 then bumped up to a 285/70 on a 17x9 w/ a -25 OS. Had to heat gun and plastic trim and i still get the occasional rub here and there on turn+bump, but i mostly stick to FS + sand dunes so no biggie. If i did more crawling, even w/ my SPC UCAs at 3.5(?) caster i'd want a CMC to be safe

Cab mount chop will do it but then in a few more years you'll want to try 35s and wish you'd done the cab mount relocation.. that's where I'm at now.
    Cheers

It's not stock height. 2" lift in front and 1.75" in the rear. But I get the hint here lol

So you're running 285/75/16 on 16x8 wheels with +/- 2.5" of lift? I get I'll have to trim the plastic but you haven't done a CMC? Just trying to make sure I read this correctly. Do you have an alignment chart for what was done to have the LCA's adjusted? I have replaced the LCA's with oem but I currently have some crappy SPC UCA's but I'll be putting on new Freedom Offroad UCA's when I heal from knee surgery.

Depending on your UCA’s. You can get your castor up on your alignment so the wheel is pushed forward towards the bumper. This will clear enough space so that a cab mount chop is not needed. But definitely better with a slightly higher lift up front to get some clearance.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch. Trying Falken AT3w now, Really like BF KO2s.
You have a good setup with suspension and UCAs, it doesn't matter how much lift your suspension has it is going to cycle through its travel, thats when rubbing hits. With 285s its not much, minimal cutting and a cmc is like an hour or so at a good offroad shop, if they know what they are doing it will look factory.
