Many years ago I lifted my '04 Extended Cab and went from 31" BFGs (265/70R16) to 33" BFGs (285/75R16). I never changed the spare tire. I think it may not be a bad idea to have a matching size spare. Will the 285/75R16 fit in the same space underneath the bed?

Bumpers front and back, Soon to have fresh Fabtech Coilovers
If you bent the arms that hold the tire outwards just a little bit yes. Would hang further than any bumper you may have though underneath.

Don't cut, just hammer the arms enough to fit the spare. People have cut the arms to fit a larger spare, then it gets wedged above the diff and prevents the rear from flexing up.

I think an elegant solution would be to weld in a 1" extension into each of the four arms. Anyone know a welding shop that would do a nice job on this?
