Will a 1.5 add a leaf and 3in front lift look bad?

So basically I’m planning on lifting my front with a 3” rough country set I found on marketplace. Will I need rear struts as well or are my stock ones fine if I just add a 1.5 add a leaf on the rear? It’s my daily driver and I live in LA where I don’t plan on off-roading it. Also was wondering if it’ll look weird on 265s instead of 285s. Don’t really want to lose much mpgs.

Unless you’re starting with a Pro (with its factory lift), I think you’d be fine. They all come with some factory rake (taller in back), which I’ve never been a fan of. I didn’t buy to tow, so it’s already carrying its normal amount of weight (other than the occasional dirt bike), so I lifted the front 1.5” to get rid of that for some slight sag. I daily mine down here in the hills of south Orange County on factory 265s without issue. I’ll likely go to a low-ply 265/75-16 (~32”) next time to get a little more height without noticeable extra weight.

Here is my 3” front and 1.5” rear bilstein lift on 265/75/16 BFGs.

actual lift was more like 2.5” in the front though.

if you don’t go off road very often then rough country is fine but I think you will likely be wanting to upgrade later so consider a higher quality of lift kit.
At 3” up front you need new UCAs (in my opinion)

Also this is the 2nd gen forum, just FYI

No Tacoma has struts, front or rear. Regardless of what catalogs say or the words people use.

If MPG is a concern you're already headed the wrong direction.

For the Second Gen's, I've read the rule of thumb for leveling out the truck and adding a bit of lift has been to raise it 2" in the front and 1" in the back. I'm not an expert on this at all, but that's what I recall.
