I just took a peek underneath and there's about an inch or less clearance at the leaf bracket or frame piece.
I'm going up from 65 series to 70 series theres Monday and definitely want to carry the same size spare.:eek:A 70 is 1.05" in diameter bigger. It's going to be close.
Anybody have a bigger tire as a spare under the truck?

I have a 285/70/17 spare under mine...fits great. It's a little tight and it doesn't go all the way up, but its tucked enough that it doesn't stick out much. Also, there is a DIY to cut out two tabs to make more room. I didn't do that, but what I have works.

Thanks,I didn't see any tabs.Probably because the tire is there but I'm glad to read the tire should fit.
I was worried I'd have to send my tires back to Tire Rack which the delivery cost to me was $87 and probably more back.It would suck to spend $200 for nothing.

I find at least from just looking at the tire under there,it's not so much the tread width,it's the diameter.
    I think.:)

    Here's a link oakleyTRD posted to fit a 285.
