has anyone had an issue of differential leak after a 3" lift? i brought my 2019 Sr to the dealer this morning (Sterling Mccall toyota) coz i notice a spot in my drive way and they said my " left front axle is causing front differential to leak, lift kit is causing front diff to leak" i had my truck lifted by Duggy's Garage last June went to them after the dealer but denied installing my lift kit
    ( https://www.readylift.com/toyota-tacoma-sst-lift-kit-69-5531.html ) wont cause the problem.
any experience and steps to fix problem is really needed :annoyed:

Botching the installation could've definitely pulled or overextended one or both CV shafts and damaged a seal, if that's what they mean. Do you have a pic of your cv angles on the ground? pic of the lift? 6112s are a great choice and if installed right you should be happy with no leaks.

No expert here. Only preformed one lift myself. My only guess is that the seals were damaged during installation. Some of The videos I watched mentioned being careful to not allow the drive shafts to be unsupported during the install... or maybe that was just a worry about the brake lines...

I don’t know of any reason the oil would be leaking other than the seals.

A 3” lift on a 3rd gen does seem a bit extreme though. Are you sure it was actually 3”? Not 2”?

it was 3” and that’s was the statement from the dealer could be during installation also they offer me I can bring it back so they can show me but it’s useless coz I don know what I’m looking at I will try to contact again Duggys Garage if they can go with me so we can end up this not our fault it’s not us,we didn’t do that statement

Looks like the seal. Clean off all the fluid with a solvent and re inspect

These rings are what hold the spring perch.
Shocks need to com off and be lowered at least 2 clips I would say to bring those angles to decent.20201014_160248.jpg

Get a hold of Duggies and tell em whats going on. I can say right now, I doubt the lift is causing a leak.

If you like the height of your lift you have, a differential drop kit is an easy solution to level out those cv axles a bit. Changing the seal is pretty easy, i think the seal is about $25 from the dealership.
