Will a 3rd Gen ARE cap fit on a 2Gen

    I've started looking for a truck cap for my 2009 Tacoma 6'.
    I've found a used ARE Revo in good shape , it's on a 3rd Gen . would there be an issue putting that on my 2nd Gen.

    It will hang over the tailgate by about 2” or so.
    It doesn’t “work”. It sits on there, but it doesn’t work.
