will a 96 A340f, bolt up to my 98 Tacoma??? HELPS !

I have a 1998, 4x4 4cyl 2.7L automatic tacoma with a shat ton of miles on my tranny and its time for a newer one.

MY ? is: Will a tranny from a 1996, 4x4 4cyl 2.7L automatic bolt right up? or will I need extra parts necessary to be able to make it compatible?

any help will be appreciated! I just hate being at a red light and when I take off it slips

Help me get her back to the glory days! I figured id post it on tacoma world and get some experienced info on the subject of trannys.

 

I do not foresee any major issues with this swap. The only difference could be any issues that the 96 had prior to your obtaining it.

 

Yea your right about that, its got 150 k the one that im thinking of getting... but hey i got 250K on the one I got now and it didnt start slipping till arround 230k.... and the guy is a friend of mine and i wouldnt hav to travel far.
