I found a 6 foot camper shell for sale for a 1998 Tacoma. I have a 2003 Tacoma PreRunner Xtra Cab with a 6 foot bed. Will it be compatible with my truck?

If it’s for an xtra cab it will. Reg cab caps don’t slope correctly at the front.

Yes as long as the 98 is an Xtra Cab

    ^ what they said

as long as the body style is the same, the cap will fit. My first cap was from a "purple" '98 and used it for many years on my '04

A regular cab topper will technically fit on an xtra cab. But there will be a noticeable gap where the topper meets the cab.

Access to Access for comparison. The entire cap is slid back about 1/2 inch. It is a temp install and keeps sliding back to that point during wheeling.

Anyone know if a first gen access cab shell will fit on a second gen access cab? Not super concerned with how it looks.
