Will a cap of a 2003 S10 (6'6") fit my 3rd Gen (2016) 6 foot Tacoma box?

I have access to a 2003 Chev S10 with a 6' 6" box (63" wide) which appears to be the same, or extremely close to my 6' (73.7") Tacoma?
Although I have read so much about close not being the same a a "fit".
If anyone has and idea yes or no, I'd appreciate hearing
    Cheers

it is unlikely it will fit 'well' but since you have access to it, i would set it on and see how it fits. it may not be great but good enough for your needs.

    More than likely not.

But if you have the cap and Tacoma and a few friends, could try it.

I would say it'll be close or not fit. It may just barely sit on the bed sides and will maybe sit 5 to 6 inches past the tailgate. Not sure how it'll be fastened down either.

I saw a cap that was too long on a truck hanging off the back. It looked awful.

I saw one today. Not uncommon by me but yeah it's not pretty to look at but hey it works!

Define what 'fit' means to you.

Maybe you'd be happy with it.

    I wouldn't be.

Or, if you're just messing with us to see if we know arithmetic, then happy Friday to you too.

I haven’t seen a real Friday thread today. Maybe mercury is in retrograde or something.

I think you answered your own question in the thread title.

Thanks everyone. By “access to” I meant there’s someone selling one a hundred miles away for $700!
So I won’t be testing it out. guess I was just hoping to find someone who had undertaken this type of venture.
only need the cap for one it two weeks a year (hunting). So not going to be entertaining “making it work”, every time I want to go hunting.
    Cheers!!!
