I’ve been on the fence on whether to upgrade my stereo or not. If I did, one of my choices is the JL Audio CS110TG-TW3.

I’ve had the same sub previously and I know it’s a GREAT sub. Searching on forums for “will it fit?” has resulted in both opinions yes and no. Not being 100% sure I defaulted to higher technology to help me. I made a cardboard mock up of the exact dimensions listed on JLs website and stuck it behind the seat.

For specifics, I have a 2018 DCLB Sport.

I removed the back seat, removed both plastic sides of the back wall. I also removed the back corner piece plastic on the driver side. The box is too wide and you have to cut out a piece of that corner for it to fit. I removed it altogether to simulate being cut.

Here is with the back of the seat folded down. It DOES fit, side to side and top to bottom. It’s tight under the LATCH bracket. I am willing to cut that off so that isn’t a concern for me. Like I mentioned, you WOULD have to cut the lower bottom side of the back driver side corner for it to fit side to side. With seat locked into position, you cannot see this.

The bottom corner of the cab has a slight taper so the sub stays about an inch from the back wall which lines up perfectly with that rail half way up the cab. I would create a cheap bracket to tighten down and it would be rock solid.

As far as will the sub hit the back of the seat. I’m not 100% sure because I didn’t simulate the extra 3/4 inch the grille sticks out. It does look like it would fit. Worst case, you could remove the back of the seat and be 100% fine. Also something I would be willing to do.

In summary, will this fit? With the expectation of some MINOR modification, 100% yes. Keep in mind this is on the driver side, which means it will for sure fit on the passenger side. If I decide to go this route, I’m gonna do 2 10’s with a mounting bracket of some kind for the amp. Saves hundreds from a JL STEALTHBOX and even most custom box enclosures.

Hopefully this information will be useful to someone. I would have liked to see it.

Hey! Thanks for your investigation, I am considering the same thing. Did you end up pulling the trigger on this? I have a 2018 DC as well and am considering 1 of these on the passenger side.

    I did. See build.

I did cut plastic and metal for a clean fit but it fits great. Grille over subwoofer doesn’t hit. Sounds great. Would highly recommend the JLs if budget allows.
