Will Any BU Camera Work With Stock Mirror?

I have a 2009 mirror with the backup camera monitor built in. Will this work with any brand of backup camera, or do I need to use the Tacoma one? I will be installing this in my 2007 Tacoma.

Does anyone know if 3rd party cameras will work with the stock mirror monitor? I asked the dealer and all he said was try the 09 camera to match the 09 mirror.
