Not a topper, but a bedcover. My Diamondback SE cover for my '16 shipped today. If only I had my new truck! :(

Something to consider with the V-Series shells,I have owned two different ones,One on a 2002 Dodge Diesel, and again on a 2013 Ram Diesel, the first one really had no problems, but the one on the 13 had a constant pile of dirt coming in the back window, the tailgate had a whaletail like the tacoma does, and the back window of the camper didnt fit it very well.I tried sealing it with weather stripping, not much luck. The ram tailgate had very large side gaps when closed which could have been the problem?Hopefully the tacoma has a tighter seal. Also if you get this shell make sure you have the dealer put on a decent gasket between the bed rail and shell, some dealers like to put in a paper thin piece of sh<t foam tape with this shell.

I just measured from the ground to center of the cab was 69 inches, ground to top of rear shell was 68 inches, so it does appear that the cab height is 1 inch higher than the rear of the shell. You might have to shim the rack mount.

The window in the shell is smaller than the window in the cab, the top matches up well, but the cab window on the bottom is 4 inches below the bottom of the shell window.

Is the ground-to-top height the same at the front of the topper and at the rear? Thanks.

Thanks for the update. Would this mean that we can order them around that date, and expect to have them around the first of the year?

Yes, the measurement was the same at both ends of the cap, 68 inches.

I think its just the angles that make it look like it raises in the back.

Ok.. So.. Just found out from my dealer today that there is NO factory tonneau cover available for the long bed 2016... Looks like my other option is to go third party, or get a cap. I don't see any dealers showing 2016 being available yet for tacoma, let alone 2016 long bed.. So... Do I really have any options worth pursuing or do I just wait... My truck probably won't deliver until early to middle December.... I would appreciate any advice on this...

Wait! Bakflip is 30 days out or so. Most will have something on the market around the 1st of the year. Looks like A.R.E. is trying to be the first and while the outside is shaped correctly I think it is a total fail if the back window does not match the cab window. If you are not getting the truck until Dec then you wont have to wait long for a Tonneau or have more choices for a nice cap.

Mostly looks and the way they are made. Just personal. I dont really want one that sits on top. I have had 1 piece color matched Tonneau's, caps and canvas covers. Currently I am looking at 3-4 pc thats flush. I like the Bakflip F1, Bakflip Fibermax and the Gator FX3. If I didn't know any better I would say Bakflip makes the Gator... There are a couple of other brands that make similar but these are at the top of the list. It is all about personal preference.
