Will door handle covers mess with my smart key?

Was looking to buy door handle covers for my 2019 Tacoma Limited to cover up the crome. Was curious if this would mess with the locking and unlocking sensor on the drivers side handle (smart key feature). Any help or personal experience with these would be appreciated!

That is a good question. I would think they would since you actually have to touch the handle on the lines to lock it.
When opening I don't think it would affect it.

 

You must get the covers for a smart key handle. Cover will have a cutout for the sensor

 

Yes, you need to have the smart key version for the touch pad to register to lock / unlock however grabbing the handle to unlock / open still works with either set . I have a set of similar to these on my 4runner.

 

Also, handle covers are $20ish on eBay
