i had a 99 extended cab 5spd that we used to take bikes to the track. I didn't have the towing package either, just a reciever hitch added to the back. 3 adults in the cab, 1 bike and gear in the bed and 2 bikes on the trailer. No issues what so ever.

3 sport bikes + gear is an easy load for the gen 1's. I wouldn't want to put 2 bikes in the back of the truck. If i had the option i would go for 3 bikes in the trailer.

Towed a 1996 z28 Camaro on a dual axle car trailer yesterday through the grapevine.

    Hardly noticed it.

Well, everything went okay. We were not able to fit three bikes in our 4x9 trailer. So I loaded one in my bed and the other two in the trailer. Also, we were able to load all our gear in the trailer. I was averaging 55mph up the hill, which is not bad. The truck did really well. I might be doing it again in May. I usually go to the track maybe once a month.

I have 89K miles on the truck. I recently changed plugs and did an oil change. Is it time for tranny and rear diff to be serviced?

    Thanks
