I called/ emailed pics to Softopper but I don't think they understood my situation.

    Truck:
    2011 DCSB
Glassworks Fiberglass Bedsides (Sprayed with Color Matched Line-x)
I have the factory uni-strut attached to the factory mounting points in the bed. The bed is not modified other than the cutouts for the shock cage/ bypasses.
I DO NOT have the factory plastic edging on top of the bedsides as the stock bedsides had.

    Questions:
-Will I be able to follow the standard installation directions for a Softopper or will I need to devise a custom method of securing the rails? The opinion from Softopper was that I would have issues since I did not have the factory Plastic Edging like the stock bedsides had. After looking at the installation instructions, it seems like the clamps have enough adjustment for this not to matter.

    - How far back can the 1st clamp be? I know it need to be close to the front edge but I am limited to ~18".

If need be, I could remove the factory uni-strut. Then I could get a piece of aluminum angle that is Drilled/ Tapped on top, and then drill into the softopper rails as a method of securing them to the aluminum. The Angle would then be secured to the side of the bed in the factory hole locations. This would allow me to get around not using the clamps.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I was able to install the topper without issues. I had to cut one of the clamps in order to install it at the front of the bed near my bed cage. Overall it looks good.

The bottom of the softopper rails have some neopreme strips on the bottom. I have Line-x bedsides, so I don't notice any scratching. But I think you should be fine.
