Am I able to fit 285 70 17's on my stock 2010 non TRD 4.0 Tacoma with maybe a 2 or 2.5 inch lift? I will not do any body modifications. If the 285's wont fit without body mods, what is the largest tire that would fit without any body mods and a small lift?

The 2-2.5" lift is fine but you'll still need to do the cab mount chop mod and beat your pinch weld in. This is from what i've gathered just being a member here for a while. I don't have 285's but this seems to be the consensus.

Thanks, I dont want to do any body mods, I updated the thread now that you mentioned it. Do you know of the biggest tire size without modding and a small lift?

She’s always going to need another inch. Count on it.

What do you mean by this? Do you mean I should go for a 4 inch lift?

I’ve always heard 6” is the minimum - but a lot of guys will try to tell you that they make it work with 4-5”.

No they will not fit. Not with a lift either. You will have to cut a lot to make them fit.

The largest diameter you can fit without modification is a 255/85r16, 255/80r17, and they may still rub.

The safe bet is 265/75r16, 265/70r17. Guaranteed to fit without modification.

It comes down how you wanna use the truck. I have a 3”’ lift on my Prerunner with 285s and they rub nowhere. Not the fenders or the body mount. But every truck is slightly different so what will work for some won’t on others. I also run jba ucas and had a great alignment tech that took the time to dial in alignment specs as I asked. But as most guys said if your gonna wheel at all with 285s they’re gonna rub somewhere if you don’t do some trimming. Good luck.

265/70/17 no lift. A/T tires would make for a more aggressive look-

I don't run the size you asked about so I didn't post, but since it looks like your truck is used more like mine: a capable truck that goes where you point it, and that doesn't include boulders. I Run Michelin LTX A/T2 and I absolutely love them. I live on a fire road in the snow zone, routinely offer a strap to others, put on a lot of highway miles, access aggressive trails in NE. They don't miss a beat.

Word! These Dueler H/Ts were on the 4rnr wheels when I got 'em. Goes where I want & smooth as glass. I will go to an A/T on these wheels when the time comes. Run Cooper AT3s on the the steelies in winter in the meantime...

Edit-Ya got a sharp truck there your ownself!

what offset are thos Fuel Wheels? That's a nice stance. I'll be putting my 295/70/17's on hopefully in a week or two.

Do you have any plans of getting rid of that chrome? I have that same set up, just trying to eliminate my chrome.
