Their styling has been off the rails for years. Miss the reserved unassuming looks.

Was looking at Rangers and F150s before I bought my Tacoma, (Ranger reminds me of the 1st Gen Tundra as far as looks go) salesman and me started talking Toyotas, he pointed to his very well built Lexus GX 460 in the back lot, and Ford lost a sale. Yeah gotta appreciate his honesty. Lol!

If the 4G looks anything like this, I could live with it. That is if they don’t kill the ACLB.

You see I'm scared of what it will be because just look at the newer Lexus out there and you know that's where there going. :(

Clearly the designers were Battlestar Galactica fans…telling ya, robot faced trucks are a thing now! Yikes!

I hope your hypothesis proves to be untrue, because if so, the next FJ Cruiser will certainly be based upon Muffit.

Toyota did release some sketches of the Land Cruiser, can see some of the design language show up in the rest of their line. Some aren’t bad.

Grabbed mine because the 5.7 is probably Toyota's best engine ever or at least in the top 5. Time will tell if the 22 + nanniebot turbo 6 holds well over 100k, 200k and 300k miles

2031 for Gen 5? Now that's the spirit :D. Who knows how long Toyota wants to run this, since it's all new. They might be forced to redesign to BEV around then. The Lexus GX will become BEV by 2029, despite being redesigned this December for 2024. Current GX is pretty much a Ta
That one's a bit off. The headlights are too wide and look too stretched horizontally.

This is 100% the truck, since Toyota just keeps deleting every post on Facebook from anyone uploading these renderings.
    https___www.carscoops.com_wp-content_uploads_2023_02_2024-Toyota-Tacoma-Rendering-3-1024x677.jpg

Those grilles started out as an aero thing in the 2000s, but the Toyoda family's Spindle loom is being "expressed", so they're never dropping it at Lexus I guess. Crazy coincidence how that happened though with BG.

For Toyota brand? I think they've managed the Tacoma pretty well, unlike the 2022 Tundra. That was totally on purpose, due to how they perceive the full-size market to be. Toyota was a bit insecure about the first gen Tundra and chose to overcompensate by making something larger than half-tons at the time. Luckily the Toyota name carried the 2G Tundra, but unfortunately it arrived way too late and Toyoda himself hated that truck for a very long time. The Tacoma has always been forced to take a backseat, to respond to poor Tundra market reception. Luckily not this time. The in your face styling is always a symptom of corporate insecurity.

Yeah it did look a bit off.

Was watching a video with Mike Swears, he was talking about how the public thought that the 2nd Gen Tundra was too small, a 7/8ths of a truck. Said they were making it as big as they can. What he missed was, that is what people were saying about the 1st Gen Tundra. Right then I knew he was missing the mark.

Much preferred the size of the 1st Gen Tundra. Believe Mike read too many magazine reviews and didn’t listen to their core customers. Wish they focused on fuel efficiency and reliability instead going for broke.

Toyota was great when the didn’t try to compete with the Big 3 and did their own thing. Unassuming looks with reliable drive trains that had a cult like following. Feel like they are waaaay over compensating now.

Good to hear that Mr Toyoda hated it.

Never did like the FJ Cruiser, Toyota missed a great opportunity to go up against the Wrangler.

There was this design exercise, Millen built this on a LC 100 chassis.

I don’t blame you. The 5.7 is a beast just like 2.7 is, but you don’t expect a V8 to go 400k. It’s amazing seeing the high mileage that the Tundras get.

You know the far majority of Tacoma buyers are going to drive on road and don't need a "tank" look to run over boulders, ruts and snakes. Seriously a mid-sized truck should look like a truck without some ugly large grill starring you in the face. Tired of seeing these ugly bull-dog fronts and black plastic noises that look cheap. Could be wrong but I get the feeling that the 2024 Tacoma smaller style will be way more attractive than a larger 4WD. And that's a shame since there are good looking 4WD trucks out there. Yea some posters here might like driving a metal box, but I prefer a standard truck look, with no off road tires that look like blown up rubber tubing. Just my humble opinion

Thank you! Brown leather, this truck is beautiful and fast! Hybrid was totally worth it. A whole level above my 2017 Taco.

Yes, I read reviews and the complaints on the Tundra forum as well. All good here. Mine is rock solid. Pleased with my choice and I do recommend.

I'm a long term Ford guy (lots over the years!) but I don't want to deal with cam phaser failures and other current quality lapses from them.

RAM Is a beautiful truck but unreliable as hell.

    GM? Hell no. Ptuy!

Jim Farley was saying to fix quality with the Fords will take years.

Agree with you the Ram, good looking, won’t touch it with a 10’ pole.

GMs….still having trans issues, after all these years you think they would have fixed it.

Tundra, saw a couple today…little lift and larger tires, starting to grow on me. Grill still seems massive. If I bought one would have to do a Sequoia front clip swap.

Kinda digging the new Ranger though, reminiscent of the OBS F-Series. About the size of them too now.
