Will it Rub or no?

I have a stock 2022 Tacoma Off Road and I’m looking at getting RRW 17” -12 offset wheels on Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT’s 265/70/17 I am just wondering if this will cause any rubbing and if I would have to do any trimming?

-2021 tacoma SR
-fox 2.0 giving about 2 front and 2 rear
-Stock 2020 trd sport wheels (30 mm offset stock)
-currently running 265/70/17

Looking at 2 inch rough country wheel spacers, resulting in net -20 mm offset. Will probably stick with 265s, but may go to 285s if able.

Wondering if anyone has done this or runs wheels with -20 offset?

I have that tire size on a 17x8.5 with -12mm offset and it rubs pretty good pulling into driveways and if you're on the brakes and turning onto a side street or something like that. Haven't even tried to off road yet. I took them off to put the winter wheels and tires on but will likely do a 2" lift before putting the bigger set up back on if funds are there.

 

Do you think it would help to get the same wheels with a zero offset?

 

It will definitely help. If the wheels I got were available with zero or even slightly positive offset I'd have gone that route.

 

@TacomaLiving, a zero offset seems to be the choice of many forum members and a solid fit with no mods needed.

 

It may still rub on the mudflaps (if you have them) with the wheels turned and suspension compressed, like pulling into an inclined driveway.
