Will long bed models eventually have a hybrid option?

I can understand why Toyota is focused on the Pro, TH, and OR/Sport short beds as they ramp up hybrid production, but I'm wondering whether the long beds will ever have this option. Anyone with insight?

I’m too lazy to dig up anything official but I’ve never been under the impression that the long bed Off Road would not be available in the hybrid. Did they say somewhere that it wouldn’t be?

This would change some things for me because I can’t deal with a 5’ bed and I wouldn’t buy anything with a snorkel.

Unlikely. Toyota usually doesnt add much over production.

Canada had the only addition during 3rd gen, the double cab offroad wasn't available until 2017, second year. Canada never got the double cab long box offroad, nor access cab sport.

Because of weight I imagine Toyota wanted the iforce max only on the shorter model.

Tundra has 5.5 and 6.5 for HV but no 8.1 ft box. No changes in the 3 years of production.

I don’t think weight is an issue since the Trailhunter is available as a hybrid longbed.

I doubt it. Long beds are "usually" for work, and work trucks are usually kept lower cost. The hybrid for Toyota Trucks in North America isn't meant for fuel economy, but is a performance booster instead. Think of it more like a supercharger of old. Would it make sense for that to be in a work truck vs their performance trims? It's also a way to upsell those that want the hybrid (whether they are chasing performance or if they are idiots that think hybrid = MPG) into more expensive trims to increase profit.

I guess I'm going to have to get used to disappointment. I liked the idea of the power booster, but I still need a long enough bed to transport a full sized motorcycle to service work. I do not need a Trailhunter, or it's price. I just want a 4x4 Sport with a 6 foot bed, darnit, lol

I think eventually the hybrid will the ONLY option as emissions crack down even further. Could be several years out but I think that is why the hybrid is an option. Because of future particulate requirements.
