Question for those who might happen to have a RTT on bed bars and also mountain bike...

I like to hang my mountain bike over my tailgate with a pad for transportation. My thought is that with bed bars on, there is no way the bike will fit. Has anybody tried this? Iv'e never seen a picture with this scenario.

Perhaps there is a way to get it in by folding the tailgate simultaneously with rolling the bike in so the tailgate fits between the fork/frame? Or maybe a certain height bed bar is sufficient?

I don't have bed bars, but even with my dropper post dropped all the way, my saddle is pretty high above the bed. I'd assume that would be the highest part.

Right...but it is not just a function of seat height, it's the process of getting the bike in and over the tailgate while still getting it over the tailgate.

In other words, even if the bed bars are higher than the seat, that doesn't necessarily mean you can get the bike in.

That's exactly what I was looking for...thanks. Looks like it won't be possible then (or without large hassle, at least).
