Thanks for the tip on this one. Guess I never looked at all options available so I just added it online. Hope I never need it but for less than $40 a year it’s worth it.

Alright, closing out on this, I picked up my new TRD Off-road today, just about one month after my SR5 got totaled. Replacement Cost Assistance for the win.

I had a 2021 Carolla as a loaner vehicle this week. It has a similar electronics package to what my Tacoma has, but it's clear that the GPS is tied into the instruments even if I don't have an app. On the Multi Fucntion Display, the current speed limit was displayed as I drove along. Plus, at every intersection with a stop sign, a stop sign signal appeared on the display. I don't know if the information is being beamed back to the mothership. I was going to look at the OBD connector and see if there was anything plugged into it, but I forgot.

Since it's a rental owned by the dealership, it wouldn't surprise me.

The Carolla also had an electronic parking brake which was kind of odd. Unlike my SR5, it also had blind spot cameras and the cross traffic alert when the back up camera was on. I still don't know why my Tacoma has Lane Assist, but not the blind spot camera. It's weird what Toyota includes and doesn't include in various packages.
