Are you sure your trailer brakes aren’t stuck or maybe your e brake is engaged?

The more I read this thread, the more I think there is some user error at play.

OK OP, bear with me here.

    Asphalt drive
    Decent tires,
    Trailer brakes not locked up
Load is under the max tow limit
The hill does not look as steep as the boat ramps in my area

The truck bogged down the first two attempts. The third attempt you shut off Trac and floored it, spinning the tires.

    Is all of this correct?

You continue to blame the truck and folks here despite having a little fun - are trying to help. As has been explained to you, unless there is something mechanically wrong with the truck - in which case the dealer needs to get involved with a warranty claim - the truck is not the problem. Therefore something else is causing said problem.

Folks are trying to help but you need to explain the circumstances in a clear and logical manner.

Is the neck seized? could be an issue with the mechanism in the trailer locking up the brakes.

Not sure if there’s an issue with the truck, or user error. I’m going with the latter.

I’ve pulled more weight up steeper grades without issue.

Traction control is cutting your power. You need to disable it....

Based on this then I would suggest since you do not have four wheel drive and cannot use four low, the next time you pull the boat up this hill put the trans in S1, push the ECT button, turn the locker on and don't be afraid the give the truck a bit of throttle. This will give you the most torque and traction your truck can deliver.

Are you trying to backup the truck up hill with surge brakes?

I bet the surge brakes need to be adjusted, or the coupler itself. A quick recap on how surge brakes work: the hydraulic brake master cylinder on the trailer is activated by pressing against the back of the tow ball.

Most surge brakes have a lock out for reversing; try that when going uphill on your driveway.

Get the boat loaded with everything you normally carry for a day on the water and then pull it to a truck scale so you can get an accurate weight. Have someone video your attempts to pull up the driveway so you can show the dealer exactly what is happening, both from inside and outside the vehicle.

There should be no reason why you cant pull that size boat up an incline like that.

Ah shit man. I’m sorry. It looked like dirt.

Something is definitely wrong then. Those tires are perfect for what you are trying to do.

So I would definitely be looking at brakes and tongue weight then. Seems to me the back of the truck has no weight for traction.

Stop beating yourself up over this dude, and just take it in to the dealership. Life is good, you will survive this bump in the road.
