Almost everything becomes collectible at some point. I do like the old regular cabs, simple. The regular cab long bed are pretty rare, but those were the HiLux.

My first vehicle was a Chevy S-10 regular cab, after having an access cab with all that extra storage room, I couldn't go back to a reg. cab.

I had a Ford Ranger 4x4 reg cab, think it was 83, long bed. Little work horse, back then all trucks were reg cabs for the most part.

Toyota is just catering to the new ninny male generation. The fact that we all have to now drive trucks with extra doors so that the metro-male focus market can have space for their yoga mats, standard poodles and artisan cheeze makes me mad.

Every time a boomer makes fun of millennials, I just like to remind them that The Boomer generation raised them.

The youngest millennial is 24 years old this year.

    Everyone bitches about millennials.

It's the gen z that you should be complaining about, and thier gen x parents

Vehicle manufacturers are in the business to make money. If a product is not profitable, they discontinue it if they are smart.

I needed the room for a kid and a 70lb dog. Nothing metro about who I am sir. Practicality won my purchasing decision.
My gen Z child makes fun of little stupid cars and she's being raised by a gen X'er. She also doesn't play video games, spends more time outside, goes camping, wheeling, and shooting. It's all in how you raise your child. Also it's who you let raise your child and what influential information you allow to guide them.

Now back to a regularly schedule subject of regular cabs

There is a reason Toyota stopped production. No demand. It’s not like the company wants to kill that configuration. If there is a demande they would even offer convertible Tacomas. People buy car s that have more things, space, tech, use etc. hint the cross over type of the cars are dominating. And as usual we as car enthusiasts have to deal with what the general boring crowd want. If it is it up to me I think all truck should be manual:amen:

But if Toyota didnt make stupid 4dr SUVtrucks, you'd just use your wifes minivan for hauling the crumbsuckers. Like the good old days!

It’s all about the right tool for the job, many people need the four doors and a truck bed.

Yes but these ninny males are the ones buying. And we the tough ones are sitting here trying to milk Toyota and everyone of us wants a new frame for our 20 y.o beat up truck and then talk shit about their new gen. They are going to build electric truck for these ninny and we will still be sitting here and bitching

I won't even start on the uselessness of a 5 foot truck bed.

Nope I'd buy a 4 door fullsize truck again because you know they started making them for the millennials as well :anonymous:

They are available with a 6’ bed. I’ve seen plenty of cargo hauled in a 5’ bed.

I can haul my motorcycle with the tail gate down in my DC so I’m happy :)

I hauled 500lbs of rocks not long ago for a friend. I found that pretty useful, so did he.

I’m also glad I have a 1st gen DC. I can haul 4 people without it being a hassle. It’s easier to put my dogs in the back seat with the extra doors, plenty of room for them too. I can recline my seat and not worry about room. I am able to make U turns at lights and not hold anyone else up. The best part is I can still take it on trails with narrow turns without scratching my sides and it preforms well off road. I also don’t mind getting some scratches on it either since it’s an older truck. All this in a small size truck that I can still easily park in a small/full parking lot.
